The Harrison Dollhouse Kit - Greenleaf Review

I built this doll house about 13 years ago; it was a lot of fun. From the beginning it was to be an English house; I referred to several books on old English houses for ideas. I made several alterations in the exterior, used "slate" shingles, omitted the rather corny balcony -- anyway, it was a beauty and was eventually donated to a local arts group who auctioned it twice [the first winner having donated it back], the second time for $2000 - probably far less than I had in it, for it was fully and nicely furnished. This is a large doll house, and constructing it, decorating and furnishing it took several months of all my spare time. Note: the kit uses 1/4" plywood, not the heavier wood of the more expensive houses. I ended up using an entire [small] room for the construction that became full of adhesives [I used Liquid Nails], taping compound [for the stucco], paint, stain, and so on. I had thin glass cut for the windows, and pounded lead solder, cut it and glued it on to make "real" leaded glass. All items, for instance baseboards and the woodwork around the doors, and all components of the stairways, if you want them to look nice, will have to be bought separately, so it's good to have a doll house shop nearby. Because of the unusual and interesting floorplan, this house is one I would build again. The price is very attractive.

Note to all parents: A group of us parents watched our kids play with Hide-n-Seek Hayley. We had so much fun! You do need to read the instructions though. She needs to be sitting in an upright position to get the best clues. The kids need to play at a slower pace. The kids get so excited running from point A to point Z with the hand held unit that Hayley is trying to register the childs location. If you remind the kids to slow down, stop, look & listen you will get the clues and the lights as they are suppose too. The child needs to walk around with the hand held unit, find a location, stand still for a moment and you will get the correct lights and the correct clues. If the child is running all over the place poor little Hayley is constantly trying to register the childs whereabouts. If you tell the child to slow down for Hayley, she is as fun and very exciting as she appears to be. Hayley just needs a few seconds to think and she will work fantastic. This doll is also design well because it is also meant for the children to use their thinking abilities. They have to think OK, I look like a popsicle, what is Hayley trying to tell me? She is saying that I am cold. Hayley say's very encouraging messages. We hide her everywhere, in closets under pillows and my kids and their friends were able to find her. She works great! It was the hit of the sleepover. It made my job easier. Just remind the kids to slow down, and refresh the clue button and have her in a sitting position. If you play with Hayley right she will fulfill all of your expectations. Hayley is an awsome, awsome doll!

JumpSport 12' StagedBounce Trampoline Review

We have had this trampoline since last summer and I am very pleased with our purchase. The trampoline is extremely easy to put together and feels very solid (safety enclosure that you can buy with it is also extremely safe, but not so easy to install). I selected the staged bounce because my daughters are young (6,4, and 2) and I didn't feel they needed the most crazy bouncy trampoline around. That being said, I think this trampoline has excellent bounce, as both my husband and I get on it and bounce like crazy. I was also worried that the smaller size would not have as much bounce as the larger size, and perhaps it doesn't, but as I said, this has great bounce. We selected the smaller size because we have a strangely configured backyard with a very large tree in the center that divides the yard into sections. We actually have the trampoline sitting on asphalt, which I would prefer not to have, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. There is never any movement of the trampoline itself, even when my husband is bouncing really high on it. I know there are less expensive trampolines out there, and when I am at other people's homes who have cheaper trampolines, there doesn't appear to be a huge difference. However, I felt that buying this trampoline from a company whose safety record I trusted was well worth it, and I do believe this is better quality. I am putting my most precious possessions on this trampoline, and spending extra for the quality and the safety was never a question.

I'm 43yrs old and grew up skate boarding and roller skating. My experience on roller blades has been limited to "trying a friends" and the one time 10yrs ago that I rented a pair for the day. After reading many reviews online, I bought these skates mainly to add some fun to exercising around the neighborhood. My intentions when buying these was to use them regularly in place of going for a jog or run and also to "walk" our dogs. I have only been out with them 3 times as of this review and I am extremely pleased with them. As other reviews have stated, they fit very good and the size I choose was the same as my running shoes. I have to admit that not being an experienced inline skater, these things require a good bit of respect by the user. They seem very "fast" to me around the smooth blacktop streets in my neighborhood. I'm planning to buy knee pads and wrist guards just in case I take a fall. Overall, these skates have exceeded my expectations and seem like they will provide me with many years of use. They truly are fun! and remind me of the days not so long ago when I would spend hours on end outside playing.
