Playmobil Airline Terminal Review

We bought the airline terminal, airport tower, and both jets for our twin 4-year-old boys' birthday. They LOVE the set. The airline terminal is beautiful and very realistic, from it's turning luggage conveyor belt, to the security screening area, pay telephone, computer screens, and security lights.

Take note that the airport takes some time to put together. It's not hard, but I HIGHLY recommend putting it together BEFORE your child sees it. I spent about 2 hours assembling it. I recommend also keeping the extra little screws and tool they provide as I find myself using it every now and then to put some of the pieces back together.

While our boys absolutely love playing with the set, as other customers have noted with these products, the pieces do come off a little too easily. Our boys enjoy deconstructing things, so I frequently find parts of the airport here and there and have to pop them back on, otherwise they might get lost forever. Some parts I don't mind being moved around; however, other pieces like the roof itself should have been designed as one large unit instead of 3 take-apart pieces, same goes with the corridor. This is why I gave the airport 4 stars instead of 5.
PS...All of Playmobil's products we bought direct from the manufacturer. It's generally cheaper on their website.

This is a wonderful toy that helps with hours of imagination and creativity! Yes, there are small pieces. We have had it come apart too but only if you pick it up by the roof. We always hold the base and carry it that way. It is hard if you have an array of ages in your home. It is unrealistic to think the older kids can't have toys because they could be choking hazards to the younger. We have taught them to be careful to clean all the pieces up and watch the baby doesn't tear things apart. Our 9,8,5 and 3 year olds love this farm and I would recommend first to over 4 years old but if it isn't possible just be aware of the choking hazard. In my experience, when it has fallen apart, the small pieces that secure it have stayed in place nicely and helped me know how to reassemble. It isn't that hard if you were the one that put it together originally. It would seem to me the reviewer with the destructive play date should re-think the toys they let rough friends play with. This is an expensive set and wouldn't be something I would let destructive, disrespectful or very small children play with anyway. It doesn't seem right to be annoyed at the toy when it clearly states there are small parts. Anyone who had owned playmobil knows about the tiny parts. That's what makes it so much fun!

The Princess Bride: The Sword of the Dread Pirate Roberts Prop Replica Review

I've got a lot of swords in my collection, but the swords from The Princess Bride are the first "replicas" I've gotten. The Princess Bride has always been one of my favorite movies, so while these aren't of the same quality as my other swords, I didn't expect them to be, since they're replicas of a movie prop.

I got both swords, but unfortunately the source I purchased them from didn't include the hangers - so while I was able to easily recreate two for the Dread Pirate Roberts sword using a cut up wire coat hanger carefully bent, I haven't found a good solution for Inigo Montoya's yet due to the basket around the hilt - it precludes straight, even hooks from holding it properly. Factory Entertainment cannot or will not sell the hooks separately.

Sword feels good in the hand, and unlike the Inigo sword, there's no parts wrapped with printed paper to give "detail" but just the wrapped hilt and the metal from the guard and blade. The scabbard isn't straight without the sword, but lines up properly if you put the sword in it.

The only two swords in my collection that aren't true swords, but they're the pride of my collection nonetheless. Everyone comments on them, and I'm amazed at how many people recognize them.

For any fan of the Princess Bride, its' a great memento.

Princess Toddler's Pacific Disney Snow White Helmet and Pads Review

Both the helmet and the pads run very small. The helmet barely fits, and the pads are very tight on my skinny just-turned-4 yr old. Had to buy the larger size at Target!
