Revell 1/144 International Space Station ISS Review

First, price-gouging is not acceptable behavior. This kit might be worth between 100, and 150 dollars in the collectable market. It's not that rare.

I actually have this kit. Well, two of them.

If you pay $700 plus dollars for this kit, and build it, you will be on your doctor's couch in no time, because it's going to drive you insane. This model, when completed, will have to be placed in a glass display case, and never EVER moved again for any reason. That's because even slight bumps or jarring will cause excessive oscilation of the solar array wings, which will cause them to break off from the ends of the integrated truss sturctures. All of the solar array wings have broken off of my kit, including the backup solar arrays from the spare kit over the last ten years. Most annoying, that is. The only possible fix, is to drill a hole in the ends of each solar array, and find some metal tubing of the same diameter, and insert it into the holes of the solar arrays to replace the broken peg, which you'll have to remove or drill out from the truss structgion to which the array was once attached. I've also had the European transfer vehicle fall of the back of Zvezda (was never glued), and all of it's solar arrays broke off.

Oh, another note, NEVER skimp on the construction. There are armatures which have to be installed inside the modules, and go from one end to the other in the module chain, and end to end in the truss structures. Skimp on this step, and you'll be rebuilding the entire model after you notice it warping.

It's not a kit for the light-hearted. It's one of those kits that takes months to build, and can indeed be quite annoying just getting certain parts out of the stems without breaking them.

It's an advanced kit, and it produces a fantastic model once completed.
